I’m not actually shocked at this ploy by out elected officials to use new jail as tool to line their coffers rather I’m disgusted that they are so blatantly self serving. We definitely need a new jail but instead of passing this unrepealable tax why not replace those attempting this fleecing with people that can manage the millions currently incoming and pay for jail with these “missing funds”. As an ardent supporter of a new jail after reading these facts I will probably not support this crazy tax.

What ever became of the removal of the remainder of the food tax that Gov Beebe promised? Only partial reduction has been made and taxes on food necessities should be stopped.
